Where To Print Your Templates
Our templates are designed to work with a range of printers, from at-home inkjets to professional print shops. Below is a guide to where we recommend printing each item in Australia.

Invitations and on-the-day stationery like table numbers and place cards work best on thicker cardstock, ideally anything above 270 gsm. Thicker paper feels sturdier, holds its shape and is especially important for pieces that need to stand upright or handle a bit of wear throughout the day.
MOO
Cost: Starts from $30 AUD for 25 Medium invitations*
MOO is our go-to online printer for invitations thanks to their easy uploads, solid pricing and consistently good quality. You can upload front and back designs at no extra cost and choose from a range of thick, premium cardstocks. We usually recommend the Original Matte for a clean, modern finish or Luxe for an ultra-thick, understated look where the paper becomes part of the design. Their Medium size matches our 127 x 178 mm templates, while Small corresponds to A6.
Printing sizes available:
- Small (A6) – 105 mm x 148 mm
- Medium – 127 mm x 178 mm (also known as 5″x7″)
- A5 – 148 mm x 210 mm
- Square – 120 mm x 120 mm
- DL – 99 mm x 210 mm
- 38 mm Stickers (for envelope seals)
Tip: Business cards are a great option for printing flat place cards, since MOO lets you upload multiple designs in one order. Export your place card template as individual JPEGs (Templett can download all pages at once), then upload them to MOO’s business card layout. We can resize your template to fit—just reach out.
VISTAPRINT
Cost: Starts from $1.42 AUD per unit (117 x 182 mm)*
VistaPrint offers a wide range of paper options including Matte, Glossy, Linen, Pearl, Recycled and Kraft. They include front and back printing as standard, which makes them a convenient choice for invitations and cards. Their sizes differ slightly from the standard 5"x7", but if you choose to print with VistaPrint, you're welcome to reach out and we can resize your template to match their dimensions. (A5, A6, DL and Square can be found under 'Postcards').
Printing sizes available:
- A6 – 105 mm x 148 mm
- Invitation – 117 x 182 mm
- A5 – 148 mm x 210 mm
- Square – 120 mm x 120 mm
- DL – 99 mm x 210 mm
- 38 mm Stickers (for envelope seals)
PETERKIN PRINTERY
Cost: Pricing depends on quantity and paper stock but as a rough guide, it starts from $2.45 AUD per unit for 50 invitations on standard Boston 350 gsm cardstock*
Peterkin is a premium local option here in Perth and home to one of the largest paper collections in Australia. They’re a fantastic choice if you’re after coloured, textured or specialty stocks. You can print directly through them or simply purchase the paper in A4 sheets for home printing. We especially love their Woodland, Heirloom, Coco Linen and GMUND Bio Cycle and Cotton ranges. They also offer Indie Handmade, a beautiful cotton rag stock with a natural deckled edge. If you’re buying paper for home printing, keep in mind that most desktop printers can only handle up to around 240 gsm.
Peterkin’s default invitation size is 120 x 180 mm, so if you’d like to have your design professionally printed with them, we can resize your template to match their specifications.
It's a great place to purchase invitation envelopes too, as they have a wide variety of colours and textures to choose from.
Printing sizes available:
- A6 – 105 mm x 148 mm
- Invitation – 120 mm x 180 mm
- A5 – 148 mm x 210 mm
- DL – 99 mm x 210 mm
- Square – 140 mm x 140 mm; 100 mm x 100 mm; 120 mm x 120 mm
OFFICEWORKS
Cost: Starts from $14.95 AUD per 10 invitations (A5)*
Officeworks is a convenient and budget-friendly option with a solid range of papers including Recycled, Linen, Crystal (shimmer) and Kraft. We recommend ordering in-store rather than online, as their website can be a bit hit and miss and doesn’t always show every option clearly. In-store, you can see and feel the paper, ask questions and request custom trimming, whereas the online system limits you to standard A5, A6, DL and Square sizes. Turnaround times are usually decent if you have a local Officeworks nearby.
Printing sizes available:
- A6 – 105 mm x 148 mm
- A5 – 148 mm x 210 mm
- Square – 120 mm x 120 mm
- DL – 99 mm x 210 mm
Cost: Starts from £10 (ex VAT)*
For our UK customers, Printed.com is a great option for printing your wedding invitations and cards. Besides digital printing, they also do shaped invitations and special finishings like foil and white ink. Printed.com also has a large variety of luxurious and textured paper stock to print your design on.
Printing sizes available:
- A7 – 74 mm x 105 mm
- A6 – 105 mm x 148 mm
- 5" x 7" – 127 x 178 mm
- A5 – 148 mm x 210 mm
- DL – 99 mm x 210 mm
- Square – 105 mm x 105 mm; 148 mm x 148 mm
LOCAL PRINT SHOPS
Cost: Pricing varies between print shops, but in our experience it’s generally reasonable considering the convenience and quick turnaround.
Local print shops are a great option if you prefer face-to-face service and want to see paper options in person. They handle custom sizes with ease, there’s no need to wrestle with online systems, and turnaround is usually fast since there’s no shipping involved. Many can also take on any extra stationery you need later. Some shops are even willing to test print on custom cardboard, so it’s worth emailing ahead to ask if you can bring in a sample. Local chains like Kwik Kopy and Snap Printing are great choices too.
HOME PRINTING
Cost: DIY is often more expensive than people expect. Specialty paper can be around $10 for a pack of ten A4 sheets, and ink refills can easily run into the hundreds depending on your printer. Best suited for small or micro weddings where you only need a handful of stationery pieces.*
Home printing can work well for smaller items, but it does have its limits. Inkjet printers are better for thicker cardstock and handmade papers, though the quality won’t match professional printing and colour-heavy designs can burn through ink quickly. Laser printers are ideal for thinner papers and items like envelope liners and belly bands. Overall, home printing is best suited for place cards, table numbers, simpler menus and gift tags. For anything larger or more detailed—like invitations, save the dates, individual menus or big batches of place cards—we recommend going professional, otherwise you'll end up glued to a paper trimmer.

Signage varies a lot depending on the style you’re after, but as a general rule, local print shops are our top choice for fast turnaround and the option to mount signs on foam board. If you’re not in a rush, there are several online printers who can handle large-format prints beautifully as well.
Choosing Materials for Printing Signage (Simplified Guide)
The material you choose affects the look, durability and cost of your signage. Here’s a straightforward breakdown so you can pick the right option for your event.
POSTER SIGNS ($)
- Pricing: From approx. $26.99 AUD for A1*
- Turnaround: 24–48 hours locally; 1–3 weeks online
- Best for: Framed indoor signage
- Availability: Widely available at most print shops
Poster printing is the most budget-friendly option and works well for framed signs such as welcome signs or seating charts. They print quickly, come in all standard sizes and are ideal for indoor use. You can buy A1 frames from IKEA or Kmart which fit the posters perfectly.
FOAM BOARD OR CARDBOARD SIGNS ($$)
- Pricing: From approx. $83.99 AUD for A1*
- Turnaround: Around 1 week locally; 2–3 weeks online
- Best for: Easels and indoor displays
- Availability: Offered by most print shops
Foam board is the most common signage option. It’s lightweight, sturdy and sits well on easels. Cardboard board is the eco-friendly alternative. Both options give you a clean, professional finish and hold up well indoors. (Peterkin Printery does rigid cardboard signs.)
CORRUGATED PLASTIC / CORFLUTE SIGNS ($$)
- Pricing: From approx. $57.99 AUD for A1*
- Turnaround: Around 1 week locally; 2–3 weeks online
- Best for: Outdoor signage
- Availability: Selected print shops; some can add eyelets for hanging
Corflute is durable, waterproof and ideal for outdoor weddings. It’s tough enough to handle wind and light rain and is slightly cheaper than foam board. You can display it using stakes, frames, easels or simple hanging setups.

Please note that the PDF you download from Templett will be HALF of the actual sign size. You will need to tell the printer to print it at 200% for the actual size of 70 x 200 cm.
APPLiK Digital Fabric Printing
We collaborate exclusively with APPLiK in Queensland to print our fabric sign templates. They are a lovely small business who are familiar with our files, which helps ensure accurate scaling and finish. For best results, we recommend using their service.
For Our UK customers, you can get fabric signs printed at Printed.com. Prices start from £51.50 (ex VAT).
The easiest place to print folded place cards is at a local print shop. Export your template from Templett as a PDF with one name per page. Turn on trim marks, and add bleed if your design has colour or elements that run to the edge.
If you have more than 36 names, Templett will automatically create a second file so you can add the extras. Take or email the PDFs to your print shop and ask them to print, trim to size and score the centre fold for tent-style cards.
Ceremony booklets are best printed by a local print shop, however they can also be printed at home with a laser printer and some patience.

PRINTING AT HOME
Prepare Your File
Make sure your ceremony PDF is A5 page size and in the correct reading order (page 1, 2, 3, etc.) before printing.
Check Your Printer Setup
Open the PDF in a reader like Adobe Acrobat Reader and go to the Print dialog. Select the Booklet or Booklet Layout option.
Paper Size & Orientation
Set your paper size to A4 (297 × 210 mm). Booklet printing works by placing two A5 pages per side on an A4 sheet that will be folded in half.
Choose Double-Sided Printing
If your printer supports duplex printing, select Print on Both Sides and use the recommended flip on short edge setting.
If it doesn’t, print one side first, then reinsert the pages to print the opposite side manually.
Check Scaling
Set Scaling to 100%. Avoid automatic fit or shrink options so margins and fold alignments stay accurate.
Print and Fold
Once the pages are printed, fold each A4 sheet in half to create the A5 booklet. The booklet print setting will automatically place pages so they nest in the correct reading order.
For more detailed instructions, visit our blog post on how to print A5 booklets.
Colours on screen will always look different in print.
Screens are backlit and display colours in RGB, while printers use CMYK inks. Every device is calibrated differently, so expect your printed colours to appear slightly softer, darker or warmer than what you see on your computer or phone. This is completely normal.
Check the file format your print shop prefers.
Most professional printers request PDFs, which you can export directly from Templett. If they require something else, follow their specifications—they know what works best with their machines.
For anything with names or variable text, export as a multi-page PDF.
Templett will create a separate page for each name so the printer can process the batch correctly.
Use bleed for designs with backgrounds to the edge.
If your design has a coloured background or elements that run off the page, make sure you turn on the bleed option before exporting. This extends the page by a few millimetres and prevents thin white edges after trimming.
Enable trim marks if your printer asks for them.
Some printers require trim marks for accurate cutting. You can turn these on in Templett before exporting your file.
For home printing on A4 sheets, use the "Save Paper" and "Trim Marks" option.
This arranges multiple cards on one sheet, reduces waste and makes trimming easier.
